3/3/21 - This is a rare and very early Inland M1 Carbine, one of the first 9,000 ever produced! Likely made around June or July of 1942, it has the early Inland stock with flaming bomb, crossed cannon cartouche, Overton and 'LA' markings in the sling well. Circle P proof on the bottom of the wrist. Early Inland handgaurd with another flaming bomb proof inside. Front sight is marked 'N', rear sight marked with an 'S'. W-I marked checkered mag release, and checkered safety. PI marked slide. Early flat bolt with IO in circle. Inland trigger housing. Flaming bomb and H proof on hammer. Bore is shiny with strong rifling but has a small area of freckling inside. The rifle has excellent finish remaining but there is some pitting on the barrel and on the receiver, hidden by the stock.
